parchment flowers & little paper boats.

I've just finished watching Miyazaki's beautiful film, Howl's Moving Castle, and I have to admit that I'm astounded. The characters were beautifully animated, the endearing morale to the story was a heartbreaker, and Sophie's character was so hilarious, yet her tribulations with love hit close to home for many. I give it ten stars out of ten for astounding picture-work and lovely plot!
I felt compelled to share that with you. :)

Now, if you haven't watched Howl's Moving Castle, please contact me! I can direct you to a link where you can watch it online, free! It's well worth it if you have a high speed connection. :)

An although I've never really claimed to have a "favorite song" I have to admit that songwriter/singer/producer Josh Ryan, spear-head of "Secrets in Stereo" has struck a deep chord within me, and I'm foolishly in love with his new "in the making" song, Vanish. A beautiful composition that he hopes will end up on the Twilight Saga's upcoming movie, New Moon. The song is written from the depths of emotion, the sole part of your heart that wishes for more, yet wishes they could be freed from the inevitable demon; love. It's an astonishing feeling I get from this song, and I really feel that Josh is going to go far. Good work Josh, keep it up! And cross your fingers for New Moon!
You can check out Vanish, here. http://www.secretsinstereo.com/blog/
Or look them up on Youtube, remember, that's Secrets in Stereo!

Now, what's with that title, you might ask? Well as of late, I've been doing alot of oragami-type crafts; making paper flowers and even a little origami sailboat! It sure does pass the time.. and it's astounding the things you can do with paper and a little creativity.

Of course I still haven't finished the boat... but it's the S.S.Samm Boat. :D It stands on its own and it's roughly 2 1/2 inches tall. The smallest flower, the pink on to the left, is about 1cm in diameter - they were fun to make, and I'm going to attempt doing some origami animals later on tonight. Maybe even a crane. ^_^

For now, though, that's all.
Stay tuned.

Gahgh.

I got off work at 8 tonight, and I'm already blogging. @_@
Regardless, I'd say it's about time I did so, or I'm going to be swamped with updating. :P

Bathroom Renovations! :D
They're coming along rather well - I'm surprised the amount of work we've gotten done in the past few weeks with my cousin, versus the couple months Will and I spent working on it alone.

Before walls, with borders..

After walls, without borders.. and.. awesome!

Other side of bathroom, without walls, any hookups, with borders..

Other side of bathroom, with 2 new walls, tub in place and no borders..

Obviously, we're still not done; we have to finish the right wall (pictured above), set up the faucet and shower hookups, do the mudding and sanding on both walls.. install a tub surround, paint the bathroom, replace the sink+vanity(maybe), decorate, tile.. and enjoy! I can't believe that in a few weeks, I'll be already used to having a running bathroom again. It'll be nice.. save us time and money.. runnin' to my mum's to go shower and bathe the ferrets, and dogs. :P

Finally, pictures of my horridly broken window. -.-

the colorful lilies in my garden...

and Willy... as a transformer fly. ehehehehehhehehe.

Samm, out.

In Retrospect

Dearie me, mr. blog. I'd love to say I've been so enormously busy these past few weeks that I've had to tear myself away from my rush of day-to-day hustle and bustle to write here; course, I'd love to say that. In all realism, though, it's been rather dismal around these places - there have been some moments, though - and I'll get to those in a bit.

I've been pondering the idea that I should finish up my writings here and move on to something else. Clearly the only people who read this thing are the ones I have no intent on speaking to; that, or my family - whom I love dearly for keeping in touch. :) In retrospect, though, I'm glad that neglecting my blog.. and forgetting to write in it are the only issues I'm havin' a hard time with. Someday, when I have kids and more pressing matters, it'll be these days I look back on and hope for. I'm pretty sure of that one.

Yesterday night, after coming home from a long day of shoppin' and making our way to my mom's house... we blew a tire.

It was flat for about 5 minutes of horrid bouncy driving, a failed attempt to remove the nuts from the tire to replace it, and desperate hopes that we'd make it just the few minutes up the road; just a minute from my mom's house, though, the tire blew and we were forced to walk the remaining way to her house - up until my uncle happened to be driving by and picked us up. Luckily, he helped us get off the old tire and put on the donut. Today, we got the tire repaired - and for free. :)

We've been finally working on our bathroom with help from my cousins; god bless them! :P

Still another wall to do, tub surround, the faucet hookups and a closet - then painting and deco, etc.... but this is a new wall thus far. Done our way and done proper. And our new tub is pictured in the second one, beautiful, cheap.. easy! (Not to mention, I fit in it comfortably!) What more could I ask for in a tub?

As for much else... we got the A/C unit in the window.. cleaned this place up a heck of a lot, and moved our bed across the bedroom.. atleast only for the time being.. so Willy can be closer to the air conditioner. =D

And no official plans, as of yet, but we're going to be moving on to much bigger and better things - assuming all goes well, that is. More to come about that tidbit at a later date.

Later Gaters!

Five. Nine. Oh Six.

May 9th, 2006. The date I dedicated myself to this silly little boy at the time ; a relationship that certainly would not be short and sweet, but thriving on till this day; three years and a month after.

It's almost ridiculous the amounts we've put ourselves through and hung tight, the problems seem so frivolous to the final outcome. We've matured and grew as a couple, and as one. He's my best friend, and it simply amazes me; how could I have lived without you? A question I used to think foolish in my single-days is now the topic of my mental debate; where were you all my life? and why did God.. or Zeus, or.. whoever.. choose to deliver you to me now? Regardless, it seems that I needed you; that wherever our lives develop to from here, the inevitable is that I've grown from our experiences as a couple and can only hope that these experiences continue until well into our eighties. It doesn't really matter what we're doing; s'long as it's together. I believe that together, we can do anything. Thank you, God.. or whoever, for the 9th of May, 2006. Even before then... when we met.
"I like noodles and cows." - William's first words. :)

On a non-mushy note, we finished weeding the garden! Haha. Unusual change of subject so drastically. :P But we don't do too much 'round this house to update on (note the lack of updating regularly). We drove around a lot last Thursday, went to Forest Ontario; a town where my old campground is near, took pictures on the beach and ate at KFC.

Work's been good, the dogs are doing great and... we might turn our house into an income property, and moving out? Stay tuned for definite decisions. :D Willy's rushing me to finish here. Off to play some Harvest Moon! :D

Nothing New - Boo!

Just updating to keep myself on this blogging business - update now, whilst I want to, despite not having anything (really) to write about. :P

It's been raining the past few days - really awkwardly, though. Rain, tornado-like-wind, gray thunder-storm skies... and then nothing for an hour or two. We did see a rainbow, though. (But obviously this is photoshopped. :P It wasn't dark... atall.)

Willy and I finally got the yard work done yesterday, though, despite all that rain. I was tired of that mile high grass swallowing up my poor little dogs and my entire shins. Now it's all trimmed nicely. :) Not the whoooolllleeee acre, mind you, but the important bits.

Partied last night for a friend that was moving, again! She came home to her moms, and is now moving in with her sister an hour or so away. It was a great party - an indoor party, but nevertheless. We ended up sleeping in our jeep, drunk as skunks! It was freezing arse cold, and we ended up sleeping ontop of all the heavy blankets.. and using this scrawny one to cover up with. Not to mention, the jeep is just... a foot shorter than optimal comfort-sleeping. Will and I had to sleep with our legs bent the entire night. But it was fun. :)

The dogs are well, the ferrets are curious, and my computer desk... is in dire need of a good cleaning. =O

And that's all for today, folks.

TO THE HATERS, PLEASE READ. (Everyone else, continue about your business. :) )
And if you're a bi-sexual butch that sleeps with her brother's ex-fiance and her own fiance at the same time, keeps tabs on me, and genuinely annoys the heck outta' me, piss off, betch. :)

if you have a girlfriend from another continent, is shorter than napoleon himself, and/or might be festering some deep psychological problems, f# you. :)
if your momma dropped you on your head, your taxes are bad, you have poor gas mileage, you have daddy issues, you got fat from donuts or otherwise... and you find the urge to blame me for any and all of your problems - you need to readjust your skull. :) in laments terms, I don't care about you. :)

Miss Bella Boop and Dusty Doo

It took a while for our decision to finally come to surface - but finally, on the 16th, we took the trip to Bright's Grove, Ontario - and picked up a 7 1/2, almost 8 month old yorkie female. Her name is Bella, a name that was previously chosen for her, and we've kept it that way. She's a bit more skiddish than Dusty - although compared to any large dog, these dogs don't stand a chance. Hahaha. Their shadows could knock them for a loop.

Bella is on the left, Dusty on the right. She looks like a total little goof right now - hair is trimmed shortin a little boy cut, it looks like she has a little beard and she walks like she's bow-legged. She's our little Jeff Foxworthy, and about as funny as him, too. :D

Speaking of boy-cuts?...

Dusty is our long-haired little man. And he has the most adorable little "emo-cut" you can imagine. Poor guy! I have to do something about all that hair in his face! Regardless, it makes for a rather comedic emo Yorkie pic. :P

NYAH! :P
Both my fur-kids happen to be sticking their tongue out - what a coincidence. Hahaha. But Bella spends most of the time looking like that anyways. :)

And our new camcorder - mainly Willy's. He's always wanted one, I wanted something a bit smaller than my Nikon D90 for recording, so we met in the middle. We got ourselves a Sony DCR-SR 85 - aka...
This camcorder. :) - it's a neat little thing, touchscreen, saves to the 60GB hard disk drive or a memory card, has a little dock 'n such. Yadayada. It's a pretty nifty little camcorder. It's last years model... but com'on.. last year wasn't even that long ago! Not to mention, I got a killer deal on it - plus I'm not sure if I even got charged for it... =| .... they were having troubles with their machines - but com'on... the... big company... I got it from.. doesn't need ALL that money... <.<... I'm probably just being dillusional to think I could get the thing free... ...but maybe... (it hasn't shown up on my bill yet. :P)

Everything I s'pose I'll update you on later. I'm waaay too lazy now. :P hehe
Later! :)
